Privacy policy
Levely is a focus timer that records the practice sessions you run and the skills you level up. This policy explains what happens to that information. The short version: it stays yours. Levely has no accounts, no advertising and no tracking, it does not measure how you use the app, and the developer cannot see your practice data. The only thing that leaves your device — other than to your own iCloud — is a record of whether you have bought the in-app purchase.
What Levely stores
Levely stores the following on your device:
- The player name and title you choose
- The skills you create, and their levels and experience
- A record of each focus session — its skill, length, start time and outcome
- App preferences, such as whether session alerts are enabled and which theme you have selected
You provide the player name and skill names yourself. Nothing is imported from your contacts, photos, calendar, health data or any other source, and Levely does not ask for access to them.
iCloud sync
If you are signed in to iCloud, Levely syncs the data above between your own devices using Apple’s CloudKit, in your private iCloud database. That database belongs to your Apple Account. The developer of Levely has no access to it, cannot read it, and receives no copy of it. Apple handles it under Apple’s own privacy policy.
To stop syncing, turn iCloud off for Levely in the iOS Settings app under your Apple Account.
Purchases
Levely offers a one-time in-app purchase that unlocks additional features.
Payments are handled entirely by Apple. Levely never sees and never receives your payment card, bank details, billing address or Apple Account credentials.
To know whether you have purchased, Levely uses RevenueCat, a third-party service that validates purchases with Apple and records which features you are entitled to. RevenueCat receives an anonymous customer identifier generated on your device, and the details of the purchase itself. It does not receive your name, email address, or any of your practice data. RevenueCat processes this on the developer’s behalf under its own privacy policy, available at revenuecat.com/privacy.
RevenueCat also aggregates this purchase information so the developer can see sales totals and trends. This is reported on Levely’s App Store privacy label as the Analytics purpose for Purchases. It concerns purchases only — no practice data, and nothing about how you use the app, is involved.
This is the only information about you that leaves your device to anywhere other than your own iCloud.
What Levely does not do
- No accounts, sign-ups, or passwords
- No product or usage analytics — Levely does not report which screens you open, what you tap, which skills you practise, or how long you spend in the app. The only analytics of any kind concern purchases, described above
- No advertising, and no advertising identifier (IDFA)
- No tracking across other apps or websites
- No sale or sharing of personal information with data brokers
- No crash or diagnostic reporting service
Notifications
If you allow notifications, Levely schedules them locally on your device so it can alert you when a session ends. They are not sent from a server, and no notification data leaves your device.
Retention and deletion
Your practice data is kept until you delete it.
- On your device: deleting the Levely app removes the data stored on that device.
- In iCloud: data synced to your private iCloud database is removed by deleting Levely’s data from iCloud in the iOS Settings app. Deleting the app alone does not remove the copy held in iCloud, so if you have used sync and want everything gone, do both.
- Purchases: records of a purchase are retained by Apple and by RevenueCat as required for receipt validation, refunds and accounting. These records do not contain your practice data.
Children
Levely is not directed at children. It asks no one for personal information, of any age, and the only information it collects about anybody is the purchase record described above.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export or delete personal information held about you. Because Levely holds no personal information about you — your practice data is on your own devices and in your own iCloud, and the purchase record is tied to an anonymous identifier — there is generally nothing for the developer to retrieve or erase. If you believe otherwise, get in touch using the address below and your request will be answered.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this address with a new date at the top. Material changes will also be noted in the app’s release notes.
